Game Overview

Reversi is a live two-player board duel where every move changes both territory and tempo. Good play comes from controlling future options, not just flipping the most pieces on the current turn.

How Play Works

• Place a piece so it brackets one or more opponent lines.
• Any bracketed line flips to your color immediately.
• If you have no legal move, the turn passes.
• The game ends when neither side has a legal move left.

Win Condition

The winner is the player who controls more pieces when the board closes. Corners, stable edges, and mobility usually matter more than early disc count.

What Good Play Looks Like

• Fight for corner access.
• Avoid feeding stable edges to your opponent.
• Preserve mobility so you do not get forced into bad endgame shapes.
• Treat short-term flips as a cost, not a goal, unless they improve the position.
